I've created a Remote Server generic definition on our SQL Anywhere server version 11.0.1.2376. The ODBC driver used is a purchased client driver called 'Relativity' from Liant. These drivers allow us to connect to our purchased Fundware database (From Blackbaud). This works fine on our production database, which is 32-bit.
Our test server recently was recently moved to a 64-bit server and Sybase 12, 64-bit was installed. Although I set up the ODBC datasources as 32-bit (my only choice with these drivers) and defined the Remote server on test, I am unable to connect. Message is "Datasource name not found and no default driver specified".
We have other 64-bit sybase db servers where a Remote Server connection has been successfully established to another 32-bit sybase database. Are you aware of any other limitations? I can't say a whole lot about the Relativity drivers. They were purchased as our only access to the proprietary Fundware database.
